Monthly Archives: September 2013
Welcome to our blog
First, get to grips with WordPress.
Then, decide what to write about. (And remember to “save draft.”)
Welcome to our blog, in which we’ll report on our productions, writing and events.
And we’ll also talk about the places, books, plays, restaurants, TV shows and other things that we have recently enjoyed. So to give you a flavour – but in no particular order:
Claire Tomalin’s fascinating biography of Samuel Pepys, The Unequalled Self. Now there was a man who would have loved Twitter.
John Lloyd & Jon Canter’s AfterLiff. A whiff of genius: a dictionary of things there should be words for. Such as the word for “the guff on the packaging of upmarket foods in which the makers declare how ‘passionate’ they are about cheese twirls.”
The astonishingly good Heritage Ale from the brand new Firebird Brewing Company, based in the Old Brickworks, Rudgwick, West Sussex. Now there’s real passion behind a product.
The Newman Street Tavern. Perfect oysters right at the beginning of September. Ace wine list. A menu that presents an impossibility of interesting dishes. A great place for dinner with friends.
